Get to know me
I am a Formula Kite Sailor on the US Sailing Team, pushing for a medal at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. I grew up sailing on the coast of South Texas, spending most weekends as a child at sailing practice. I started sailing Optis at age 6, eventually progressing to racing them. Later, I transitioned to competing in the Laser and 420 classes. Outside of sailing, I am a friend, a challenge-seeker, and a pilot.
At 16, while still sailing Lasers, I picked up kiteboarding just for fun. After learning how to kite, I heard about plans for kiteboarding to become an Olympic sport. From that point on, I decided to stop laser sailing and pursue success in the formula kite fleet.I began training and honing my skills in the Formula Kite fleet. Despite my dedication to sailing, I’ve always taken my studies seriously. Balancing school with training, I also pursued my passion for aviation. At 18, I became a private pilot while still in high school, and I’m currently continuing my flight training with the goal of becoming a commercial pilot.
After high school, I decided to pursue an online education through Texas A&M alongside flight school. I am currently working towards a Bachelor in Aviation Science. This online education allows me to train and travel, ensuring I’m where I need to be for on-the-water training.
In 2021, I began kite racing full-time, traveling the world to train and race in pursuit of my Olympic goal. During this time, I experienced success, failure, and everything in between. In 2023, I finished 19th at the World Championship, qualifying for a spot on the US Sailing Team.
My journey is driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence, and I’m excited to share it with you as I aim for Olympic gold.
